On July 20, 2014, 130 BELTEI students returned back to Cambodia after spending 20 days attending World Camp 2014 in Republic of Korea. There were 4,000 youths from 80 countries attending this World Camp and also the participations of the Ministers of Education from 22 countries.
According to the report from Mr. PHO Sothearak the Manager of International Relations and Tour Company stated that BELTEI Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the International Youth Fellowship (IYF) in order to make cooperation. This year, International Youth Fellowship suggested 130 BELTEI students to participate in the World Camp 2014 in the Republic of Korea for 20 days, from 01 to 20 July. During this event, students visited many interesting places such as Busan City, Seoul Capital City, University of Pu Yong and other historical sites.
Miss. Kong Dalin, student from BELTEI International Institute Campus 4, said that this World Camp build the students’ courage, tolerance and discipline; moreover, gave all the students the chances to live in a group, work as a team with different nations. Students also gained experiences from each other as well as exchanged in cultures and traditions.
Miss. Norng Damy, student from BELTEI International Institute Campus 4, added that at the World Camp our Cambodian students can show their ability, courage and commitment on the international stages.
Miss. Sunhong Meyly, Year 1 student from BELTEI International University, showed her grateful excitement that she could be able to attend international program, especially BELTEI students won the competitions against the other international students. She added that international students admired BELTEI students on the ability to use English fluently. Besides getting new knowledge and life skills, BELTEI students also shared their knowledge, culture and the prosperity of Khmer civilization to the international students. At the same time, she also thanked to BELTEI management teams who had prepared such a wonderful event in order to develop students’ knowledge and experiences so that the students can plan for their life and take part in developing the country.
In that occasion, HE LY CHHENG Director-General of BELTEI Group and a member of the International Youth Fellowship Advisory Committee stated that it was an ideal opportunity for students to participate in the program which was participated by many countries, and our students brought the dance and music of Cambodia to perform during the camp in order to show our glorious culture and tradition on the international stage. These activities helped promote our Nation and showed potential in the education of Cambodia. The primary objectives of sending our students to attend the World Camp are:
1- To help students build their courage, tolerance and industriousness especially train them to work in group in order to gain skill and experiences as well as to exchange cultures, traditions and to be self-dependent.
2- To help students to aware of the advanced countries’ society and modern technologies. This can be the sources for their research and development of the country.
3- To show the international stage that our students have ability, courage and sufficient capacity to participate in international programs and the core resource for the development of the country.
